It's been a busy few months in this household. The husband and I are excited to say we are awaiting the arrival of our baby boy in a few weeks. This ultrasound was completed at 29 weeks.
Let's see what's been happening in this household in the past few months. The husband and I went to DC for President's day weekend (our last vacation before becoming parents). Then somewhere along the line - we decided to go ahead and renovate the rest of our house! Talk about nesting! This was a major project with little planning! Imagine being 7 to 8 months pregnant tackling such a project! I must have been crazy! Luckily - we are almost done. The last of the contractor (stair guys) are supposed to be done by the end of this week.
As for cooking and baking - no time to do that. I am still trying to wrap up the decorating for our baby's room!
Ah...parenthood...such an exciting time!

Marshmallow Failure
Well...I didn't think it was possible but I guess it is. I managed to screw up while making rice krispie treats today. Apparently marshmallows do have a life span. I didn't look at the expiration until after my failure and that was when I realized it's been seven months after the expiration. Seven months doesn't seem so bad but I guess it is. The marshmallows didn't really melt, they just seem to compound together and created this huge gooey icky marshmallow in butter. Needless to say...I ended up tossing the whole thing in the trash.
I plan to buy a fresh bag of marshmallows tomorrow to see if it really was the stale marshmallows or just my terrible skills at the stove!
Note to self: I must go through the posts and rename the the labels!

Stainless Steel Pots & Pans
A new year, a new set of pots and pans to use. :) I finally got a chance to pull out my new pots and pans. The husband bought this set for me more than six months ago but they were sitting in a corner as I was simply too lazy to open the box. What is included in this set is the 8 inch skillet, 10 inch skillet, 1.5 quart saucepan with cover, 3 quart saucepan with cover, 3.5 quart saute with helper handle and cover, 8 quart stockpot with cover and the steamer with cover. And look at the shiny set! They are heavy too! Now I just need to use them!

2011!
It's 2011! A whole decade has passed and a new one starts today. There are many exciting events happening this upcoming year. I hope I can blog more this year as well as try to cook and bake more. Of course I hope to exercise more, photograph more and just enjoy life more. We shall see. ;P
